Yes, a student can get credit for up to 6 courses taken with OptimaEd, even if they are enrolled in courses elsewhere. 

Which classes give you credit, if any?

Middle school core courses can be used to recover failed courses, which are required for High School promotion. High School courses give high school credits towards graduation requirements.
